Scouring the World with Typewriter and Camera
This is Venice is one of a series of big, handsome picture books by Miroslav Sasek, a sophisticated, skillful artist, whose illustrations are so good, so full of humor and color, that they must be looked at again and again. Every page is "suitable for framing," but even the most enthusiastic child would never want to take apart this near perfect piece of work. What a lovely Venice for any young reader to know and treasure.
