29.09.03 The This is London dishtowel >>>

At least two people have contacted the site about this - one in London, one in New York - both found them at jumble sales or thrift shops. Now, thanks to Jessie Hartland, one of the proud owners, you can all see what it looks like. What a great thing to find! It's a bit of a mystery to say the least. Presumably the dishtowel was sold as a souvenir in the same way as the Paris postcards. Is a dishtowel quite a British gift? If so it's quite likely there were never equivalents for the other books in the series. Even with this is mind, it's quite a strange thing to turn up. It's a jaunty affair with text and pictures taken word-for-word from This is London. See the full spectacle below, and do get in touch if you know anything about it or any others.

29.09.03 A new section on the site. Prints and paintings? >>>

Now that there are a few pieces of Sasek memorabilia that don't fall into the other categories there's an Other section which covers prints, paintings, postcards, dishtowels and anything else that might happen to turn up. I'm particularly interested in finding out more about Sasek's paintings so if you can add anything please get in touch.

13.08.03 An interview with Miroslav Sasek >>>

Apologies for the lack of updates lately. Here come the first of many with the addition of a Reviews section. Actually, this means Reviews, interviews and articles and is designed to encompass any writings about M. Sasek, as opposed to those by him. At the moment, this includes possibly the only known interview with Miroslav Sasek, a really charming piece from 1969, plus a few articles, summaries and obituaries, mostly dating from the 1960s to Sasek's death in 1980. Hopefully in time this section will grow to include reviews, links to other children's authors and works on illustrators Sasek has been compared to or has influenced. As always your help is needed for all this so if you have anything to contribute, please get in touch.
